Description

We offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH), a dual degree in Public Health (BSPH) and Business (BS) and minors in addiction studies, health care management, and public health. The BSPH programs are accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH). The dual degree in Public Health (BSPH) and Business (BS) program is accredited by CEPH and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Service learning and community engagement are cornerstones of public health education at Falk College. By purposefully integrating classroom instruction with hands-on opportunities, longstanding faculty-agency collaborations locally and globally allow us to customize student learning experiences while helping address some of today’s most pressing public health needs. Undergraduate students can work with faculty-led research projects on topics including control of infectious disease, addictive behaviors, veterans health, community violence, health communication, health disparities, and lead exposure.

The BSPH program prepares students to work in a variety of public health positions, county health departments, preventive health, cancer prevention, corporate wellness, college health services, health insurance, and pharmaceutical companies. Many students plan for graduate education in public health, health administration, health-related social sciences (medical anthropology, medical sociology, or health psychology), health policy, law, and the health professions (medicine, nursing, physician assistance, pharmacy, or dentistry).

The dual Bachelor of Science degree program between the Whitman School of Management and Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamic allows students to complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in a Management program and the Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health (healthcare management concentration) in 4 years. This dual major requires completion of a minimum of 152-credits. Students enrolled in this program will graduate with any one of Whitman’s ten majors and Falk College’s major in Public Health, Healthcare management concentration (only).
